BIOGRAPHY
Bálint
Karosi hails from Budapest, Hungary. He is a versatile musician performing
on the organ, clarinet, historical clarinet and harpsichord. Bálint studied
at the Liszt Academy in Budapest, at the Conservatoire Superieure de
Genève and at the Oberlin Conservatory, earning two Master's Degrees,
two "Prix de Virtuosité"
and both an Artist Diploma and a Master of Music in Historical
Performance. He has won many prizes at prestigious international competitions.
Bálint is a versatile composer, his compositions have been well received in Europe and the United States. His compositions are published by Wayne Leupold Editions Ltd.
As the Organist and Director of Music at the First Lutheran Church in Boston, Bálint leads an international concert series and regular performances of Bach Cantatas. Bálint was awarded the 2009 Prima Primissima Juior Prize for Music, which is a recommendation-based cash prize for the most distinguished artists in Hungary.

…Weckmann's monumental chorale elaboration on the Lutheran
hymn "Es ist das Heil uns kommen her," turned out to be a most impressive
musical interpretation for this challenging piece.
